Fundamental Principles:

1. Science is based on observed, factual, and unbiased evidence.

2. Science follows rule-based methods, with all work capable of replication and logical explanation.

3. Science grew out of natural philosophy and the quest for knowledge. As a consequence, there are no unscientific topics, only unscientific approaches to topics.

4. Science dictates that the precautionary principle applies whenever critical information is or might be missing that could indicate short- or long-term danger of harm to the planet or to any of its populations.

5. Science and true scientists are not “for sale” to the highest bidder. Coercion, threats, and financial “incentives” to bias science results are to be deplored. All such transgressions should be made public, and criminal penalties should be implemented.

6. Science should be conducted with complete honesty, integrity, and open sharing of information. The reporting of results of scientific experiments must not be suppressed because of commercial agendas or special interests.

7. Science relies on impersonal discussion, sharing, and mutual respect. There is no place in true science discussions for character assassination, innuendo, or other forms of personal attack.

8. Science findings and the free conduct of science experiments are under attack by a wide range of organizations with equally wide ranging agendas. This manifests itself though suppression and coercion, but also though organizational and corporate “SPIN” in mainstream media. It is the ethical and moral responsibility of scientists to refute “SPIN”.
